Entering Church Service Times (as a Pastor)

Church service times must be entered in order for any Missionary services to be scheduled. Therefore it is critical for these to be entered. It is common for these to be less-known as other information for the church, so it is advisable for the district to enable and encourage pastors or there delegates to enter this information. It is possible for the DGMD to coordinate this – especially in the initial phases of getting information in the system, and the admins can support by bulk-uploading this information.

Here is the process for creating service times:

Here are the steps in brief:

Log into GMDeputation.com
Click on “Churches” then on “Church Service Times”
Click on “Add new”
Enter the Church from the dropdown list (if your church does not show up here, please connect your profile to the church – see article)
Enter the Service Type
Enter the day
Enter the time (currently in 24-hour format, so 6pm = 18:00)
Enter your preference level (0=not desired at all, 9=best time)
Enter any additional notes that would be useful for the Missionary or for the DGMD
Click “Save”
Repeat for all services held at the church
Repeat for all churches under your authority.

Setting up multiple services in a macro schedule

Part of the power of the GMDeputation system is the ability to open up a Missionary Schedule (Macro Schedule) and schedule successively multiple services without having to open the schedule up again. When you select a Macro Schedule to use for scheduling services, you can see the existing services at the bottom of the screen so you know where you are starting. Once you schedule a new service here, it will only show the service you just created. Here is a video to show you the options you have here to improve service visibility in the Add a Missionary Service screen:

What is a Church in GMDeputation.com?

We do not delineate between Autonomous churches and Daughter Works – both of these are able and encouraged to support missionaries. However, it is not very common for Preaching Points to be part of the deputation process. If a DGMD and pastor agree to include a preaching point, however, it is possible to include it also. Any church that is included in the GMDeputation.com system for scheduling services should be in the position to give an offering to the deputizing missionary and to take on PIMs and to support missionaries on an on-going basis.

All appointments are created with CHURCHES and not with individual pastors, in the way GMDeputation is set up. The address of the church is therefore defined as the physical location of the church building where services are held, where the missionary should arrive. Any PO Box delivery addresses can be included under the Mailing Address in the church add/edit screen.

The primary way to connect a Pastor to a Church is through the USER EDIT screen. A consideration is being weighed on being able to do this from the CHURCH EDIT screen as well. If you think this is a good idea, please let us know!

Schedule Changes

Deputation Schedule Changes

Just getting started? Looking for something and not finding it?

The more things change …

Kinds of Changes in Deputation Schedules

There are several reasons for Deputation Schedules to change:

The missionary has raised his budget and is ready to go back to the mission field!
The missionary needs to go back to the field temporarily
The missionary is on medical or other leave
Global Missions Division has made a change for some other reason

These changes cause changes in the appointments / services scheduled.

This graphic showns how these changes are processed:

The following may be the result from such changes:

Headquarters, Global Missions Division will replace the outgoing missionary with another deputizing missionary, often a missionary just starting or about to start deputation.
Global Missions Division cancels the schedule, but the DGMD salvages it by replacing the outgoing missionary in at the Macro Schedule level, thereby replacing the missionary in all of the related services.
If neither of the above are possible, the DGMD can place the affected Macro Schedules into an “Open Pool” available to Associate Missionaries and AIM Workers. This function is still under development.
